oundamentals of flow machinery and power plants  Classification of flow machinery. Energy conservation equation Eulerian and Lagrangian form. Thermodynamic transformations, thermodynamic cycles and efficiencies in flow machinery and power plants. Mono-dimensional theory of turbomachines, velocity triangles and degree of reaction. Similitude, non-dimensional parameters for perfomance description.

Hydraulic turbines  Hydraulic power plants. Pelton, Francis and Kaplan turbines. Flow diffusion at the turbine exit and cavitation.

Pumps  Pumping systems. Centrifugal, axial and volumetric pumps. cavitation and NPHS.
